AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, CHAPTER 53, TRAFFIC,
SECTION 53-254, SCHEDULE V, INCREASE OF STATE SPEED LIMIT IN
CERTAIN ZONES, TO REVISE EXISTING SPEED LIMITS ON PORTIONS
OF THE S.H. 358 FRONTAGE ROAD SYSTEM, YORKTOWN BOULEVARD,
HOLLY ROAD, MORGAN AVENUE AND PORT AVENUE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the Code of Ordinances, Chapter 53,
Traffic, Section 53-254, Schedule V, Increase of state speed limit in
certain zones, is hereby amended by deleting the following sections:
Holly Road:
From the intersection of Rodd Field Road to the intersection
of Ayers Street (S.H. 286) -- 35 mph -- All times.
From Rodd Field Road to Kostoryz Road -- 35 mph All
times.
From Kostoryz Road to Los Robles -- 40 mph -- All times.
Morgan Avenue:
From the Crosstown Expressway (S.H. 286) West Frontage Road
to Airport Road -- 35 mph -- At all times.
Port Avenue:

From a point 700 feet south of Morgan Avenue to the
intersection of Ayers Street -- 35 mph -- All times.
South Padre Island Drive (S.H. 358) Frontage Roads, North
and South Frontage Roads:
From a point 2,050 feet southwest of Trojan Drive (Sta. 601
+ 28.89) to the centerline of West Point Road (Sta. 670 +
00), on the North Frontage Road -- 45 mph -- At all times.
From a point 500 feet east of West Point Road (Sta. 667 +
50) to Ayers Street (Sta. 572 + 89.87), on the South
Frontage Road -- 45 mph -- At all times.
South Padre Island Drive (S.H. 358) Frontage Roads, both
lanes:
From the intersection of Ayers Street (S.H. 286) to a point
1,500 feet east of Everhart Road -- 40 mph -- All times.

From a point 1,500 feet east of Everhart Road to a point
250 feet east of Candlewood Street, on both the North and

From a point 250 feet east of Candlewood Street (Sta. 313 +
50) to a point 3,370 feet east of Paul Jones Drive (Sta. 156
+ 31), on both the North and South Frontage Roads -- 50 mph

Yorktown Boulevard:
From Oso Parkway to Everhart Road -- 35 mph -- At all times.
From Everhart Road to South Staples Street -- 40 mph -- At
all times.
From South Staples Street to Cimmaron Boulevard -- 50 mph --
At all times.
From Laguna Shores Road to Sweetbay Drive -- 35 mph -- At
all times.
From Sweetbay Drive to Waldron Road -- 45 mph -- At all
times.
From Waldron Road to the city limit (east end of Mud Bridge)

Yorktown Boulevard:
From Laguna Shores Road to Sweetbay Drive -- 35 mph -- All
times.
From Oso Parkway to Everhart Road -- 35 mph -- At all
times.
From Everhart Road to South Staples Street -- 40 mph -- At
all times.
From Sweetbay Drive to Waldron Road -- 45 mph -- All Times.
From Waldron Road to city limit -- 50 mph -- All times.
and in lieu thereof, adding the following:

From a point 1.0 mile east of Rodd Field Road to Rodd Field
Road -- 40 mph -- At all times.
From Rodd Field Road to Ayers Street 35 mph At all
times.
From Ayers Street to Los Robles Drive -- 40 mph -- At all
times.
Morgan Avenue:
From Ocean Drive to Airport Road (F.M. 665) -- 35 mph -- At
all times.
Port Avenue:
From a point 750 feet south of Commanche Street to Ayers
Street -- 35 mph -- At all times.
South Padre Island Drive (S.H. 358) Frontage Roads, North
and South Frontage Roads:
From a point 2,050 feet southwest of Trojan Drive (Sta. 601
+ 28.89) to the centerline of West Point Road (Sta. 670 +
00), on the North Frontage Road -- 45 mph -- At all times.
