HomeMy WebLinkAbout020817 RES - 11/07/1989A RESOLUTION TN SUPPORT OF PROPOSITION 3, PROPOSED CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT PERTAINING TO GENERAL OBLIGATION BONDS OF THE STATE FOR AGRICULTURAL AND BUSINESS PURPOSES. WHEREAS, agriculture and rural smaLJ businesses are a vital part of the Texas economy and have the potential of providing the state with much needed stability and flexibility. WHEREAS, new state finance and marketing initiatives are needed to help Texas farmers and ranchers and ruralresidents by providing opportunities for development enterprises that wiJ.l help diversify and enhance the Texas economy. WHEREAS, voter approval of Proposition 3 has the potential to produce almost $1 billion dollars in new agricultural and rural business sales and to create 10,000 new jobs in the next four years, and holds the key for establishing a healthy state economy for all Texans. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS, THAT, SECTION 1. The members of the City Council fully support proposed agriculture, product, and rural development related amendments on the November 7 ballot, Proposition 3.
