HomeMy WebLinkAbout021076 ORD - 02/12/1991AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, CHAPTER 13, BUILDINGS; CONSTRUCTION AND RELATED OPERATIONS; HOUSING AND HOUSING PREMISES STANDARDS, ARTICLE III, ELECTRICAL, DIVISION 1, LICENSING, SECTION 13-61, TO AMEND THE MEMBERSHIP OF THE ELECTRICAL ADVISORY BOARD. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the Code of Ordinances, Chapter 13, Buildings; Construction and Related Operations; Housing and Housing Premises Standards, Article III, Electrical. Division 1, Licensing, is hereby amended by amending Section 13-61, Electrical advisory board -- Created; composition; terms, to read as follows: Sec. 13-61. Electrical advisory board --Created; membership; terms. (a) There is hereby created the electrical advisory board (hereinafter called 'board") comprised of nine members appointed by the city council as follows: (1) Two persons with five years active experience as master electricians. (2) One person with five years active experience as a journeyman electrician. (3) Two engineers, one registered as a professional engineer in Texas, and the other with a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and a minimum of five years experience in electrical engineering. (4) One person with five years experience in the commercial building industry. (5) One person with five years experience in the home building industry. (6) Two persons, residents of Corpus Christi, not connected with the electrical industry. (b) Terms shall be for two years. The term of each member shall continue until a successor is appointed, subject to limitations of the City Charter. Any member of the board may be removed by the City Council for cause. Vacancies within the board shall be filled by appointment for the unexpired term. ORD3 I 91005 r. ' A:t ' ROFILC4",E0 SECTION 2. If for any reason any section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word or provision of this ordinance shall be held invalid or unconstitutional by final judgment of a court of competent jurisdiction, it shall not affect any other section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word or provision of this ordinance for it is the definite intent of this City Council that every section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word or provision hereof be given full force and effect for its purpose. SECTION 3. Publication shall be made one time in the official publication of the City of Corpus Christi by publishing the caption stating in substance the purpose of the ordinance, this ordinance to become effective upon such publication.
