SUPPORTING PASSAGE
OF HOUSE BILL 1496
WHEREAS, illegal clumping from a motor vehicle is an increasingly serious
problem for Corpus Christi;
WHEREAS, stricter penalties are needed to deter illegal dumping; and
WHEREAS, House Bill 1496 has been introduced in the 72nd Texas
Legislature increasing penalties for repeat offenders.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the City of Corpus Christi supports House Bill 1496.
SECTION 2. That the City Manager and staff are directed to advise all local
legislators and other pertinent officials of this resolution, and to take all steps necessary to
support House Bill 1496.
