AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF AN ASSIGNMENT OF LEASE
AGREEMENT WITH HEADINGTON OIL COMPANY FOR A SURFACE
LEASE FOR A DIRECTIONAL DRILL SITE; AND PROVIDING FOR
PUBLICATION.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute an
Assignment of Lease Agreement with Headington Oil Company for a surface lease for a
directional drill site, all as more fully set forth in the Assignment of Lease Agreement, a
substantial copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof, marked Exhibit A.
SECTION 2. Publication shall be made in the official publication of the City of
Corpus Christi as required by the City Charter of the City of Corpus Christi.

ASSIGNMENT OF LEASE AGREEMENT
WHEREAS, by Ordinance No. 15684, passed and approved by City Council on
August 13, 1980, the City approved, subject to certain terms and conditions, a Surface Lease for
Directional Drill Site to Exxon Corporation; which was amended by Ordinance No. 16098,
passed and approved by City Council on March 8, 1981; and which was further amended by
Ordinance No. 17067, passed and approved by City Council on June 2, 1982, "Lease"; and
WHEREAS, Exxon Corporation seeks written authority from the City to assign
the lease to Headington Oil Company, 7557 Rambler Road, Suite 1150, Dallas, Texas 75231,
"Headington"; and
Headington.
WHEREAS, the City desires to consent to the assignment of the lease to
NOW, THEREFORE, the parties agree as follows:
I.
That all terms and conditions of the Surface Lease for Directional Drill Site dated
August 13, 1980, as amended on March 8, 1981, and June 2, 1982, be and remain in force and
effect. Copies of the lease are on record with the City Secretary's office as attachments to the
above referenced ordinances. This assignment shall be effective sixty (60) days after third
reading approval by City Council.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, Exxon Corporation has executed this Assignment this
5th day of February 1991.
