AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT WITH
ASBESTOS CONTROL TEAM FOR $24,707.15 TO REMOVE FRIABLE ASBESTOS
CONTAINING MATERIALS AT THE PARKDALE BRANCH LIBRARY;
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONSULTANT SERVICES
CONTRACT WITH MODY BOATRIGHT, P.E., FOR A FEE NOT TO EXCEED $8,500,
FOR CONSTRUCTION INSPECTION AND AIR MONITORING SERVICES; AND
APPROPRIATING $38,000 FROM THE LIBRARY BOND FUND CONSTRUCTION
INTEREST FOR THE CONTRACTS, ENGINEERING, CONTINGENCIES,
INCIDENTALS, AND RELATED EXPENSES APPLICABLE TO PROJECT NO. 269-
606.96, PARKDALE LIBRARY ASBESTOS REMOVAL.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute a contract with
Asbestos Control Team for $24,707.15 to remove friable asbestos containing materials at the
Parkdale Branch Library; and authorized to execute a consultant services contract with Mody
Boatright, P.E., for a fee not to exceed $8,500 for construction inspection and air monitoring
services.
SECTION 2. That there is hereby appropriated $38,000 from the Library Bond
Fund Construction Interest for the contracts, engineering, contingencies, and incidentals and related
expense applicable to Project No. 269-606.96, Parkdale Library Asbestos Removal.
