AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF AN ASSIGNMENT OF BARGE
RESTAURANT AGREEMENT WITH LANDRY'S SEAFOOD AND
STEAKHOUSE - CORPUS CHRISTI FOR OPERATION OF A RESTAURANT
CONCESSION AT THE CORPUS CHRISTI MARINA; AND DECLARING AN
EMERGENCY.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute an
Assignment of Agreement with Landry's Seafood and Steakhouse - Corpus Christi for
operation of a restaurant concession at the Corpus Christi Marina, all as more fully set forth
in the Assignment of Barge Restaurant Agreement, a substantial copy of which is attached
hereto and made a part hereof, marked Exhibit "A."
SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council
members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for the efficient
and effective administration of City affairs, such finding of an emergency is made and
declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon
ordinances at three regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall take effect
upon first reading as an emergency measure this the / day of Th_p-it-E

ASSIGNMENT OF BARGE RESTAURANT AGREEMENT
WHEREAS, by Ordinance No. 14810, passed and approved by City Council on March
25, 1979, as amended by Ordinance No. 15798, passed and approved October 23, 1980, as
amended by Ordinance No. 16905, passed and approved February 24, 1982, as amended by
Ordinance 19217, passed and approved on March 4, 1986, and as amended by Ordinance
No. 20034, passed and approved on October 27, 1987, the City approved, subject to certain
conditions, as amended, a Barge Restaurant Agreement ("Agreement") to Pleasure Pier
Associates, Inc.
WHEREAS, Pleasure Pier Associates, Inc. seeks written authority from the City to
assign the Agreement to Landry's Seafood and Steakhouse - Corpus Christi ("Landry"); and
WHEREAS, the City desires to consent to the assignment of the Agreement to
Landry's.
NOW, THEREFORE, the parties agree as follows:
That all terms and conditions of the Pleasure Pier Associates, Inc. Barge Restaurant,
be and remain in force and effect. A copy of the Dockside Lease Agreement is on file in
the City Secretary's office attached as Exhibit "A" to Ordinance No. 20034. This assignment
shall be effective upon approval by the City.

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance an emergency
exists requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances at
three regular meetings; I/we, therefore, request that you suspend said Charter rule and pass this
ordinance finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
