AUTHORIZING EMINENT DOMAIN PROCEEDINGS BY THE CITY TO
CONDEMN FEE TITLE TO A PARCEL OF LAND FOR THE CORONA DRIVE
EXTENSION PROJECT AND TO ACQUIRE SAID PARCEL FROM THE
OWNERS, MR. AND MRS. WILLIAM R. WARE.
WHEREAS, it is necessary to acquire, for and on behalf of the City, a certain parcel
of land, more fully described hereinafter;
WHEREAS, the Corona Drive Extension Project requires the acquisition of fee simple
title in and to the said parcel and to acquire said parcel from the owners, Mr. and Mrs. William R.
Ware; and
WHEREAS, the City of Corpus Christi is unable to arrive at an agreement with the
said owner and claimant as to the price and value of said parcel and damages for the taking thereof
by the City; it is, therefore, determined by the City Council that it is necessary that the said parcel
be acquired in fee title through the exercise of the City's power of eminent domain for said public
purposes.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. In accordance with the City Charter and the laws of the State of Texas,
the City of Corpus Christi does hereby order, direct and authorize that eminent domain proceedings
be instituted for the purpose of acquiring the fee simple title to the following described land and
premises, excluding mineral interest, for use by the City for the Corona Drive Extension Project, and
for other municipal purposes, within the city limits, said parcel being described by metes and bounds
as follows:
A portion of Lot 11, Block 14, Gardendale Addition No. 3, located on Williams Drive
between Nelson Lane and Everhart Road as shown on Exhibit "A," attached hereto
and made a part hereof for all purposes.

SECTION 2. The City Attorney is hereby authorized and directed to institute
condemnation proceedings against the property and against all persons who appear to have an
interest therein, and to proceed with said condemnation suit to its final conclusion and to obtain
possession and title to said property for use in the aforesaid project and for other municipal
purposes.

BEING A 1297.62 SQUARE FOOT (0.030 AC.) TRACT OF LAND OUT OF
LOT 11, BLOCK 14, GARDENDALE ADDITION NO. 3, A MAP OF WHICH
IS RECORDED IN VOLUME 12, PAGE 59, OF THE MAP RECORDS OF
NUECES COUNTY, TEXAS AND BEING MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED BY
METES AND BOUNDS AS FOLLOWS;
Beginning at a point, on the north right-of-way line of a
60.00 foot wide road, known as Williams Drive, for the common
south corner of Lots 11 and 12, Block 14, said Gardendale
Addition No. 3 and the southeast corner of this tract;
Thence, North 61° 00' 40" West, with said north right-of-way
line and the south boundary line of said Lot 11, a distance
of 60.00 feet, to a point, for the common south corner of
Lots 10 and 11, Block 14, said Gardendale Addition No. 3 and
the southwest corner of this tract;
Thence, North 28° 59'20" East, with the common boundary line
of said Lots 10 and 11, a distance of 30.97 feet, to a point,
for the northwest corner of this tract and the point of
curvature of a circular curve to the left, which curve has a
central angle of 06° 39' 05", a radius of 538.52 feet, a
tangent distance of 31.29 feet, an arc length of 62.52 feet
and whose radius point bears, North 48° 30' 57" East, a
distance of 538.52 feet;
Thence, with said curve to the left, in a southeasterly
direction, an arc distance of 62.52 feet, to a point, on the
common boundary line of Lots 11 and 12, Block 14, said
Gardendale Addition No. 3, for the northeast corner of this
tract;
Thence, South 28° 59' 20" West, with said common boundary
line of said Lots 11 and 12, a distance of 13.54 feet to the
PLACE OF BEGINNING and containing 1297.62 square feet
(0.030 ac.) of land, more or less.
