DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION GRANT OF $34,874 DESIGNATED FOR A PARENT/CHILD LITERACY PROGRAM AT THE GREENWOOD BRANCH LIBRARY; APPROPRIATING $34,874; AND AMENDING THE FISCAL YEAR 1991-92 BUDGET TO ADD ONE ADULT LITERACY COORDINATOR POSITION. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to accept a U. S. Department of Education grant of $34,874 designated for the continuation of a parent/child literacy program at the Greenwood Branch Library. SECTION 2. That there is hereby appropriated $34,874 from the federal and state grant fund. SECTION 3. That the fiscal year 1991-92 budget is hereby amended to add one adult literacy coordinator position. SECTION 4. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for the efficient and effective administration of City affairs, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances at three regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed nd shall t ke effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the 1 ?) day of C�c (12 19 A I I'EST: City Secretary gc MA OR THE C OF CORPUS CHRISTI APPROVED: DAY OF S�f.. 19 a' JAMES R.
