AMENDING THE FISCAL YEAR 1991-92 BUDGET ORDINANCE TO CORRECT
THE NUMBER OF POLICE LIEUTENANTS AND OFFICERS; AND DECLARING
AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the Fiscal Year 1991-92 Budget Ordinance No.
021197 is hereby amended to correct and clarify the number of Police Lieutenants
and Officers which should be reflected in Section 3 by changing the number of
Police Lieutenants shown from 32 to 33 and the number of Police Officers and
Senior Police Officers from 320 to 319.
SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council
members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency, it is hereby found and
declared that an emergency exists due to the need to immediately correct the
number of police positions for the efficient and effective administration of the City's
affairs, and the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances at
three regular meetings is hereby suspended so that this ordinance is passed and
shall take a ect uponreading ding as emergency measure this the /3

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance or
resolution, an emergency exists requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to
consideration and voting upon ordinances or resolutions at three regular meetings;
I/we, therefore request that you suspend said Charter rule and pass this ordinance
or resolution finally on the date it is introduced or at the present meeting of the City
Council.
