HomeMy WebLinkAbout021223 ORD - 08/27/1991AN ORDINANCE CLOSING THE FAR WEST TRAVEL LANE OF THE SOUTHBOUND SIDE OF THE HARBOR BRIDGE AND THE WEST SHOULDER LANE OF THE SOUTHBOUND SIDE OF THE NUECES BAY CAUSEWAY TO VEHICULAR TRAFFIC ON SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 14,1991, BETWEEN THE HOURS OF 7:00 AND 10:00 A.M. FOR THE PURPOSE OF AN ORGANIZED BICYCLE RIDE SPONSORED BY THE AMERICAN LUNG ASSOCIATION OF TEXAS; AND ON SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 22, 1991, BETWEEN THE HOURS OF 11:00 A.M. AND 1:00 P.M., FOR THE PURPOSE OF AN ORGANIZED BICYCLE RIDE SPONSORED BY THE NATIONAL MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS SOCIETY; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the far west travel lane of the southbound side of the Harbor Bridge and the west shoulder lane of the southbound side of the Nueces Bay Causeway be closed to vehicular traffic on Saturday, September 14, 1991, between the hours of 7:00 and 10:00 a.m. for the purpose of an organized bicycle ride sponsored by the American Lung Association of Texas, and on Sunday, September 22, 1991, between the hours of 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. for the purpose of an organized bicycle ride sponsored by the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. SECTION 2. That the American Lung Association of Texas and the National Multiple Sclerosis Society shall provide insurance in form and amount as required by the City and naming the City as an additional insured. SECTION 3. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for the efficient and effective administration of City affairs, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances at three regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed Kid shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the on day of (ku c)111,1-- 1991. 1 A FI EST: City Secretary U MAYOR 11114161L ctok THE CITY APPROVED: / 1 DAY OE ' (4, , , 1991 JAMES R.
