AMENDING THE ZONING ORDINANCE UPON APPLICATION OF LINDA
YARBOROUGH BY GRANTING A SPECIAL COUNCIL PERMIT FOR A
FLEA MARKET SUBJECT TO THREE (3) CONDITIONS ON LOT 2B AND
THE EAST 480 FEET OF LOT 1B, BLOCK 4, TRACT 3, J.C. RUSSELL
FARM LOTS; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has forwarded to the City Council its
reports and recommendations concerning the application of Linda Yarborough for amendment
to the zoning map of the City of Corpus Christi.
WHEREAS, in accordance with proper notice to the public, a public hearing was
held on Tuesday, October 22, 1991, during a meeting of the City Council in the Council
Chambers at City Hall in the City of Corpus Christi allowing all interested persons to appear
and be heard; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that the hereinafter set forth
amendment would best serve public health, necessity, and convenience and the general welfare
of the City of Corpus Christi and its citizens:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, is
amended by making the change hereinafter set out.
SECTION 2. That a Special Council Permit be granted on Lot 2B and the east
480 feet of Lot 1B, Block 4, Tract 3, J. C. Russell Farm Lots, located along the west side of
Flato Road approximately 600 feet south of Bates Drive, subject to three (3) conditions in
accordance with the following site plan and use:
1. USES: The only use authorized by this Special Permit other than the basic
"B-4" District and "A-2" District uses, is a flea market with associated
outside sales.
2. PARKING: The flea market must provide at least one (1) parking space
for each 150 square feet of retail area.
3. STORAGE: Outside storage on the property is prohibited.
In the event the Board of Adjustment grants any special exception or variance to

In the event the Board of Adjustment grants any special exception or variance to
the Zoning Ordinance, applicable to the Special Permit herein granted, other than the one
specified in this Special Permit, said Special Permit shall be void and of no force and effect
whatsoever.
SECTION 3. That the official zoning map of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas,
be and the same is hereby amended as herein ordained.
SECTION 4. That the Zoning Ordinance and Map of the City of Corpus Christi,
Texas, approved on the 27th day of August, 1973, as amended from time to time, except as
herein changed, shall remain in full force and effect.
SECTION 5. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are
hereby expressly repealed.
SECTION 6. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members,
copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for efficient administration of
City affairs by granting the aforesaid zoning change, such finding of an emergency is made and
declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon
ordinances at three regular meetings so that this ordinance is p seq any! sh�l take effect upon
