AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ISSUE A PERMIT TO THE
CORPUS CHRISTI AREA CONVENTION AND TOURIST BUREAU TO
CONDUCT THE "COLUMBUS FLEET FESTIVAL" ON MARCH 12
THROUGH 22, 1992; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Authorizing the City Manager to issue a permit to the Corpus
Christi Area Convention and Tourist Bureau to conduct the "Columbus Fleet Festival" on
March 12 through 22, 1992; providing for the waiver of the $200 permit application; allowing
the event to charge admission to the public; requiring the payment to the City an amount
equal to the actual costs and expenses incurred by the city cleaning the site after the event
and any other actual expenses of the city associated with the event; and subject to all other
consideration of Sections 49-15 to 49-17 of the City Code of Ordinances.
SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council
members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for immediate
action necessary for the efficient and effective administration of City affairs, such finding of
an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to
consideration and voting upon ordinances at three regular meetings so that this ordina ce
is passed nd shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the IY

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance an emergency
exists requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances at
three regular meetings; I/we, therefore, request that you suspend said Charter rule and pass this
ordinance finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
