AMENDING THE ZONING ORDINANCE UPON APPLICATION BY LADY
LEX MUSEUM ON THE BAY ASSOCIATION BY GRANTING A CHANGE
OF ZONING FROM "R -1B" ONE -FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT TO "BD"
CORPUS CHRISTI BEACH DESIGN DISTRICT ON 12.98 ACRES OF
CORPUS CHRISTI BAY ADJACENT TO THE EAST BOUNDARY LINE OF
THE AREA PATENTED TO THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI BY THE
STATE OF TEXAS; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has forwarded to the City Council its
reports and recommendations concerning the application by Lady Lex Museum on the Bay
Association for amendment to the zoning map of the City of Corpus Christi;
WHEREAS, in accordance with proper notice to the public, a public hearing was
held on Tuesday, March 24, 1992, during a meeting of the City Council in the Council
Chambers at City Hall in the City of Corpus Christi allowing all interested persons to appear
and be heard; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that the hereinafter set forth
amendment would best serve public health, necessity, and convenience and the general welfare
of the City of Corpus Christi and its citizens.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, is
amended by making the change hereinafter set out.
SECTION 2. That the zoning on 12.98 acres of Corpus Christi Bay adjacent to
the east boundary line of the area patented to the City of Corpus Christi by the State of Texas,
located approximately 900 feet east of N. Shoreline Boulevard and 400 feet north of the ship
channel centerline, in the City of Corpus Christi, Nueces County, Texas, all as more fully set
forth in the General Property Description, a substantial copy of which is attached hereto and
made a part hereof, marked Exhibit "Al" be changed from "R -1B" One -family Dwelling District
to "BD" Corpus Christi Beach Design District.
SECTION 3. That the official zoning map of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas,
be and the same is hereby amended as herein ordained.

SECTION 4. That the Zoning Ordinance and Map of the City of Corpus Christi,
Texas, approved on the 27th day of August, 1973, as amended from time to time, except as
herein changed, shall remain in full force and effect.
SECTION 5. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are
hereby expressly repealed.
SECTION 6. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members,
copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for immediate action
necessary for the efficient and effective administration of City affairs, such finding of an
emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration
and voting upon ordinances at three regular meetings so that this ordinance is pass d and shall
take effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the day of

THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI
General Property Description:
The northwest boundary of the property is 1,000 feet from North
Shoreline Boulevard and being the same eastern boundary described
in Ordinance No. 20813 as a line generally east and 1,000 feet from
the west right-of-way line of North Shoreline Boulevard.
The north boundary of the property is the extension of the north
boundary described in Ordinance No. 20813 as an extension of the
south right-of-way line of the 60 foot wide Coastal Avenue to its
intersection with the eastern boundary of the area patented to the
City of Corpus Christi by the State of Texas.
The east boundary being the same east boundary of the area patented
to the City of Corpus Christi by the State of Texas.
The south boundary is at the south end of the breakwater and
parallel to the ship channel for a distance of approximately 450
feet east of the breakwater.
The southwest boundary runs in a northwest direction along the
breakwater from its terminus to the northwest boundary of the
property and being the same eastern boundary described in Ordinance
No. 20813.

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance an emergency
exists requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances at
three regular meetings; I/we, therefore, request that you suspend said Charter rule and pass this
ordinance finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
