EXPRESSING THE STRONG DESIRE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS, TO HOST THE ASSOCIATION OF
MAYORS, COUNCILMEMBERS, AND COMMISSIONERS INSTITUTE IN
JULY 1994; AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE
ANY NECESSARY DOCUMENTS.
WHEREAS, the City of Corpus Christi is an active
participant in the Texas Municipal League and is committed to their
efforts to work on behalf of Texas cities; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Corpus Christi successfully hosted
this institute in 1989 and would welcome the opportunity to serve
as host city again in 1994; and
WHEREAS, the City of Corpus Christi has outstanding
facilities for effectively conducting business and offer numerous
attractions (and a beautiful coastal environment) which provide
excellent opportunities for recreation;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the City of Corpus Christi, Texas,
wishes to express its strong desire to host the 1994 Association of
Mayors, Councilmembers, and Commissioners Institute and is
committed to ensuring a successful event.
SECTION 2. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to
execute any documents necessary to communicate the City of Corpus
Christi's proposal to host the 1994 Association of Mayors,
Councilmembers, and Commissioners Institute.
