HomeMy WebLinkAbout021450 ORD - 08/11/1992AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 20074 BY AMENDING SECTION 3 TO ADOPT THE FINAL ASSESSMENT ROLL FOR STREET IMPROVEMENTS IN THE AMOUNT OF $94,278.14 ON I.H. 37 CALALLEN INTERCHANGE AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That Ordinance No. 20074, passed and approved on November 17, 1987, be amended by amending Section 3 so as to adopt the final assessment roll and assessments levied against owners of abutting property on the following street: I.H. 37. Calallen Interchange From 1500 Feet East of the Missouri Pacific Railroad Underpass to 0.74 Miles South of the Nueces River Bridge; a substantial copy of which assessment role is attached hereto and made a part hereof, marked Exhibit "A." SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for immediate action necessary for efficient and effective administration of City affairs by the adoption of the final, corrected assessment roll as aforesaid, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances at three regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed ad shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the 1 C day of 0LK- , 1992. BRAY JR., CITY ATTORNEY B istant City At orney AG5000.194.ajr Final Assessment Roll I.H. 37, Calallen Interchange From 1500' East Of The Missouri Pacific Railroad Underpass To 0.74 Miles South of Nueces River Bridge This project shall include improvements to the frontage roads along the north, south and west sides of the Calallen Interchange within the described limits. The typical frontage road will be 35 feet in width with a 6" curb and gutter section on the outboard side and a 6" machine laid curb along the inboard side. The frontage roads will be constructed with an 8" stabilized subgrade, 18" flexible base and 1 1/2" Type "D" Asphaltic pavement. There will be 4' or 5' wide reinforced concrete sidewalks, 4" thick and 6" thick reinforced concrete driveways constructed as shown on the plans. This project is being constructed jointly by the City and the State Department of Highways and Public Transportation and is an improvement assessment project. Based on the low bid prices submitted by Heldenfels Brothers, Inc. and the City's current assessment policy, owners of abutting property are assessed at the following rates.
