AUTHORIZING PARKS, RECREATION, CULTURAL AND LEISURE
TIME ACTIVITIES RENTAL FEE AND RECREATIONAL FEE
INCREASES AND ADDING NEW RENTAL . FEES AND
RECREATIONAL FEES; PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION; AND
PROVIDING FOR SEVERANCE.
WHEREAS, the City Code of Ordinances, Chapter 36, Parks, Recreation, Cultural
and Leisure Time Activities, etc. Sections 36-3 and 36-7 require City Council approval for
rental and recreation fee increases in excess of 25% and to add new rental and recreation
fees.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Notwithstanding the limits for rental rate increases established in city
Code sections 36-3 and 36-7, the parks and recreation director is authorized to increase
certain fees as set forth below, with the rate increase limits in sections 36-3 and 36-7
thereafter applying to the fees authorized herein.

SECTION 3. Publication shall be made in the official publication of the City of
Corpus Christi as required by the City Charter of the City of Corpus Christi.
SECTION 4. If for any reason any section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase,
word or provision of this ordinance shall be held invalid or unconstitutional by final
judgment of a court of competent jurisdiction, it shall not affect any other section,
paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word or provision of this ordinance for it is the
definite intent of this City Council that every section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase,
word or provision hereof be given full force and effect for its purpose.

August 1, 1992
The schedule of fees and charges as listed below for the use of facilities, services and
equipment of the Park and Recreation Department are provided herein as required by City
ordinance:
I. ATHLETIC FEES
A. Adult Athletics: Includes trophies, officials, post season tournament and
registration with State and National Softball affiliations.
Softball League $290 per season
8 games, 2 umpires, scorekeeper, 55 minute time limit
Recreational Softball $220 per season
8 games, 1 referee, scorekeeper
No post season tournament
Basketball $325 per season
10 games, 2 referees, scorekeeper
City League basketball registration fees may be adjusted based on the cost to
the City for gymnasium rentals.
Flag Football $260 per season
8 games, 3 referees
Kickball $260 per season
8 games, 2 umpires, scorekeeper
Volleyball $160 per season
8 games, 1 official
Soccer $300 per season
8 games, 3 officials
B. Youth Athletics: Includes trophies, T-shirts, medical insurance, post season
tournament, and TAAF registration.
Minor Youth Softball 10-12 yrs. $170 per season
Junior Youth Softball 13-14 yrs. $170 per season

Teams will have two options for playoffs:
a) The current double elimination tournament for the top 50% of the teams at the
end of regular season play, or an additional $45 per team ($470) for a double
elimination tournament for all teams.
C. Athletic Field Rentals
Teams registered in the City League Athletic field sports will have included as
part of the registration fee, one scheduled hour of practice before the start of the
regular season. In addition, City League registered teams will be permitted to
rent practice field time at the rate of ten dollars per hour on a space available
basis. Tournaments and leagues not co-sponsored by the City are unauthorized
at all times. In all other cases, the following fee schedule will apply.
ADULTS:
1. With Lights $45 per field/game
2. Without Lights $35 per field/game
YOUTH:
Up to and including 19 years of age. Athletic Field Rentals for Youth will be set
at half of the charge for Adults.

XII. The Park & Recreation Department is authorized to promoted new pilot programs
based on community requests and trends. Cost recovery will not exceed 40% for
youth.
These fees and charges are effective August 1, 1992.
