HomeMy WebLinkAbout021460 ORD - 08/18/1992AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ZONING ORDINANCE UPON APPLICATION BY THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI BY GRANTING A CHANGE OF ZONING FROM "R -1B" ONE -FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT AND "I-3" HEAVY INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT TO "I-2" LIGHT INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT ON ALL OF LOT 14 AND THE NORTHEAST PORTION OF LOTS 8 AND 13, W. O. WOMACK FARM LOTS; LOTS 1 THROUGH 5 AND 7 THROUGH 10, BLOCK 1, COLONIA HIDALGO ADDITION; AND LOTS 4,6,7, NORTH PORTION OF LOT 5 AND SOUTH PORTION OF LOT 2, BALDWIN-MOORE FARM LOTS; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has forwarded to the City Council its reports and recommendations concerning the application of the City of Corpus Christi for amendment to the zoning map of the City of Corpus Christi. WHEREAS, public hearing was held at which hearing all persons wishing to appear and be heard were heard to consider the same before the City Council of the City of Corpus Christi, in accordance with proper notice to the public, said public hearing having been held on Tuesday, August 18, 1992 during a meeting of the City Council in the Council Chambers at City Hall in the City of Corpus Christi; and WHEREAS, by motion duly made, seconded and carried, it was decided by the City Council that to approve the hereinafter set forth amendment would best serve public health, necessity and convenience and the general welfare of the City of Corpus Christi and its citizens: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, is amended by making the change hereinafter set out. SECTION 2. That the zoning on Lot 14 and the northeast portion of Lots 8 and 13, W.O. Womack Farm Lots; Lots 1 through 5 and 7 through 10, Block 1, Colonia Hidalgo Addition; and Lots 4,6,7, north portion of Lot 5 and south portion of Lot 2, Baldwin -Moore Farm Lots, located between West Point Road, South Padre Island Drive, Hendricks Street, Bush Avenue and Holly Road Extension, in the City of Corpus Christi, Nueces County, Texas, be changed from "R -1B" One -family Dwelling District and "I-3" Heavy Industrial District to "I-2" Light Industrial District according to the metes and bounds description attached hereto and made a part hereof, marked as Exhibit A. ORD5: 91168 021460 IT r r MICROFILMED SECTION 3. That the official zoning map of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, be and the same is hereby amended as herein ordained. SECTION 4. That the Zoning Ordinance and map of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, approved on the 27th day of August, 1973, as amended from time to time, except as herein changed, shall remain in full force and effect. SECTION 5. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby expressly repealed. SECTION 6. To the extent that the amendment to the Zoning Ordinance set forth hereinabove represents a deviation from the Comprehensive Plan, the Comprehensive Plan is hereby amended to conform to the Zoning Ordinance as amended herein. SECTION 7. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for immediate action necessary for the efficient and effective administration of City affairs, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances at three regular meetings so that this ordinance is passedn�d� shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the Mday of (ddb, 1992.
