HomeMy WebLinkAbout021465 ORD - 08/25/1992AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING CERTAIN GOLF FEE CHANGES; PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION; PROVIDING FOR SEVERANCE; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, the City Code of Ordinances, Chapter 36, Parks, Recreation, Cultural and Leisure Time Activities, etc., Section 36-7, delegates to the City Manager authority to approve recreational fees which do not increase annually by more than 25%; and WHEREAS, the City Council desires to set certain golf fees. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. Notwithstanding the authority of the Parks & Recreation Director in City Code Section 36-7 to establish, with City Manager approval, certain recreational fees, the City Council hereby establishes the golf fees set forth below. Monthly cards are eliminated, to be replaced by discount monthly coupons for Golf Green Fees providing 12 rounds for the price of 10 rounds of golf, per month for the following: weekdays for 18 holes; weekdays - within 3 hours of sunset; weekdays over age 60, 18 and under; weekdays - executive 9; and weekdays -executive 18. Provided, however, monthly cards for weekdays for persons age 60 and over shall not be eliminated until August 1, 1994, and the rate for same until then shall be: - $48 through July 31, 1993, - $65 from August 1, 1993 through July 31, 1994. Except for said interim fees for persons age 60 and over, nothing herein shall limit the authority granted in Section 36-7 for the Parks & Recreation Director and City Manager to set and adjust fees, within the limits therein. ORD 5: 91174 021465 MICROFILMED SECTION 2. Publication shall be made in the official publication of the City of Corpus Christi as required by the City Charter of the City of Corpus Christi. SECTION 3. If for any reason any section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word or provision of this ordinance shall be held invalid or unconstitutional by final judgment of a court of competent jurisdiction, it shall not affect any other section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word or provision of this ordinance for it is the definite intent of this City Council that every section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word or provision hereof be given full force and effect for its purpose. SECTION 4. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for efficient administration of City affairs by granting the aforesaid zoning change, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances at three regular meetings so that this ordinance is pass and shall/4e effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the 2-5 day of f r J ''�, , 1992.
