AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, CHAPTER 53, TRAFFIC,
SECTION 53-250, SCHEDULE I -ONE WAY STREETS AND ALLEYS, BY
ADDING THE DESIGNATION OF TIME -RESTRICTED ONE-WAY
PA ITERNS ON CERTAIN STREETS IN SCHOOL AREAS; PROVIDING
FOR SEVERANCE; PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION; AND
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI:
SECTION 1. That the Code of Ordinances, Chapter 53, Traffic, Section 53-250
Schedule I -One way streets and alleys, is hereby amended by adding the following section:
(a-1) School areas. In accordance with section 53-103 and when properly sign
posted, all traffic shall move only in the direction indicated during the hours indicated by
signs on the following streets or portions of streets:
Direction of Traffic
Lipes Boulevard,_from Yorktown Boulevard to Lethaby Drive North
SECTION 2. If for any reason any section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase,
word or provision of this ordinance shall be held invalid or unconstitutional by final
Judgment of a court of competent Jurisdiction, it shall not affect any other section,
paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word or provision of this ordinance for it is the
definite intent of this City Council that every section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase,
word or provision hereof be give full force and effect for its purpose.
SECTION 3. Publication shall be made one time in the official publication of he City
of Corpus Christi by publishing the caption stating in substance the purpose of the
ordinance, this ordinance to become effective upon such publication.

SECTION 4. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy
attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for immediate action necessary
for the efficient and effective administration of City affairs, such finding of an emergency
is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting
upon ordinances at three regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall take
ef*ect upo first reading as an emergency measure this the 2L day of

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance an emergency
exists requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon
ordinances at three regular meetings; I/we, therefore, request that you suspend said Charter
rule and pass this ordinance finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present meeting
of the City Council.
