AMENDING THE CORPUS CHRISTI CODE OF ORDINANCES,
CHAPTER 9, AVIATION, BY ADDING A NEW SECTION 9-62
AUTHORIZING COLLECTION OF A PASSENGER FACILITY CHARGE
OF $3.00 PER ENPLANED PASSENGER FOR A PERIOD OF FIVE (5)
YEARS BEGINNING NOVEMBER 1, 1992; PROVIDING FOR
SEVERANCE; AND PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION.
WHEREAS, the City of Corpus Christi International Airport ("Airport") met with
incumbent airlines in a public meeting process to discuss the Passenger Facility charge; and
WHEREAS, the Airport wants to file an application with the Federal Aviation
Administration to collect a Passenger Facility Charge of $3.00 per enplaned passenger;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the Corpus Christi Code of Ordinances is hereby amended by
adding a new Section 9-62 Passenger Facility Charge to read as follows:
Sec. 9-62 Passenger Facility Charge.
The Airport is hereby authorized to collect $3.00 per enplaned passenger at
Airport for a period of five (5) years beginning November 1, 1992 and ending
October 31, 1997.
SECTION 2. If for any reason any section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase,
word or provision of this ordinance shall be held invalid or unconstitutional by final
judgment of a court of competent jurisdiction, it shall not affect any other section,
paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word or provision of this ordinance for it is the
definite intent of this City Council that every section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase,
word or provision hereof be given full force and effect for its purpose.
SECTION 3. Publication shall be made in the official publication of the City of
Corpus Christi as required by the City Charter of the City of Corpus Christi.
