AMENDING ARTICLE V, THE FLOOD HAZARD PREVENTION CODE,
CHAPTER 13 BUILDINGS, DIVISION 3, SECTION 13-180 TO
PROVIDE A DATE CHANGE, AND SECTION 13-196 TO MARE A
CLERICAL CORRECTION.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEAS:
SECTION 1. That Article V, Flood Hazard Prevention Code
of Chapter 13 Buildings; Construction and Related Operations;
Housing and Housing Premises Standards, Division 3, Sections 13-180
and 13-196 of the City Code of Ordinances be amended to read as
follows:
SECTION B13-180. BASIS FOR ESTABLISHING THE AREAS OF
SPECIAL FLOOD HAZARD
The areas of special flood hazard identified by the
Federal Emergency Management Agency in a scientific and
engineering report entitled, "The Flood Insurance Study
for Corpus Christi," dated September 17,
1992, with accompanying Flood Insurance Rate Maps dated
July 18, 1985 September 17, 1992 and Flood boundary-
Floodway maps (FIRM and FBFM) and any revisions thereto
are hereby adopted by referenced and declared to be a
part of this ordinance Code.
SECTION Fr 13-196 COASTAL HIGH HAZARD AREAS
Located within the areas of special flood hazard
established in Article Division 3, Section $ 13-180, are
areas designated as Coastal High hazard Areas (Zones V1-
30, VE, and/or V). These areas have special flood
hazards associated with high velocity waters from tidal
surges and hurricane wave wash; therefore, in addition to
meeting all provisions outlined in this Code, the
following provisions must also apply:
SECTION 2. If for any reason any section, paragraph,
subdivision, clause, phrase, word or provision of this ordinance
shall be held invalid or unconstitutional by final judgment of a
court of competent jurisdiction, it shall not affect any other
section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word or provision
of this ordinance for it is the definite intent of this City
Council that every section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase,
word or provision hereof be given full force and effect for its
purpose.
