HomeMy WebLinkAbout021546 ORD - 01/12/19931 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, CHAPTER 53, TRAFFIC, SECTION 53-255, SCHEDULE VI DECREASE OF STATE LAW MAXIMUM SPEED, AND PROVIDING FOR THE DECREASE OF THE SPEED LIMIT ON CHAPARRAL STREET FROM COOPERS ALLEY TO INTERSTATE HIGHWAY 37 WITHIN THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI; PROVIDING FOR SEVERANCE; AND PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the Code of Ordinances, City of Corpus Christi, Chapter 53, Traffic, Section 53-255, Schedule VI, decrease of State law maximum speed limits upon certain streets within the City of Corpus Christi is hereby amended by adding the following section: Chaparral Street: From the north curbline of Coopers Alley to the south curbline of Interstate Highway 37 (eastbound leg -- 25 MPH -- At all times). SECTION 2. If for any reason any section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word, or provisions of this ordinance shall be held invalid or unconstitutional by final judgment of a court of competent jurisdiction, it shall not affect any other section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word, or provision of this ordinance for it is the definite intent of this City Council that every section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word, or provisions hereof be given full force and effect for its purpose. SECTION 3. Publication shall be made one time in the official publication of the City of Corpus Christi by publishing the caption stating in substance the purpose of the ordinance, this ordinance to become effective upon such publication.
