HomeMy WebLinkAbout021569 ORD - 02/16/1993AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $221,600 FROM A GRANT FROM THE TEXAS WATER COMMISSION TO DEVELOP A HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE COLLECTION PROGRAM, TO FUND PERSONNEL AND CONSTRUCTION OF AWASTE FACILITY; AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 021441 WHICH ADOPTED THE FY 92-93 BUDGET BY ADDING $221,600 TO FUND NO. 162-252-810.10; AND ADDING A PROJECT MANAGER TO THE SOLID WASTE SERVICES DEPARTMENT; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS. SECTION 1. That $221,600 is hereby appropriated from a grant from the Texas Water Commission to provide program development, education, collection, personnel funding and permanent facility construction to dispose of Household Hazardous Waste. SECTION 2. That Ordinance No. 02144 adopting the FY 92-93 budget, is amended by adding $221,600 to fund No. 162-252-810.10. SECTION 3. That a household hazardous waste program/facility manager be employed by the Solid Waste Services Department. SECTION 4. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for the efficient and effective administration of City affairs, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances at three regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the i(t day of RJA-ttA ill 1993.
