HomeMy WebLinkAbout021577 RES - 02/23/1993A RESOLUTION ENDORSING THE CORPUS CHRISTI ARTS COUNCIL AS THE AGENCY TO RECEIVE GRANT FUNDING FROM THE NATIONAL ENDOWMENT FOR THE ARTS FOR THE SOLE PURPOSE OF DEVELOPING A COMMUNITY CULTURAL PLAN FOR CORPUS CHRISTI. WHEREAS, the Corpus Christi Arts Council (Arts Council) desires to develop a Community Cultural Plan for Corpus Christi which will include all segments of the community; and WHEREAS, the City's Municipal Arts Commission (MAC) will provide support to the Arts Council and will act as liaison between the Arts Council and the City Council in developing the Community Cultural Plan; and WHEREAS, at the February 11, 1993 monthly meeting MAC reviewed the Arts Council's project and endorsed its request to serve as the City's designee for any grant money received to develop the Community Cultural Plan; and WHEREAS, with City Council's approval and support the Arts Council will file an application with the National Endowment for the Arts for a $30,000 grant to develop a Community Cultural Plan for Corpus Christi. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That City Council approves the Corpus Christi Arts Council as the agency to receive grant funding from the National Endowment of the Arts for the sole purpose of developing a Community Cultural Plan for Corpus Christi. SECTION 2. That the Arts Council will work with all segments of the community in developing the Community Cultural Plan. AG5000.325.ajr 021577 7 r T MICROFILMED 2 SECTION 3.
