SUPPORTING PASSAGE OF SENATE BILL 52
WHEREAS,
1. Deaths and injuries from drunk driving continue to be an undue
risk to our citizens.
2. Senate Bill 52 would lower the blood alcohol concentration
deemed "intoxicated" from 0.10 to 0.08.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the City of Corpus Christi supports
Senate Bill 52 and other substantially similar legislation.
SECTION 2. That the City Manager and staff, as well as
the Mayor and council members, are authorized to communicate to all
local legislators and other pertinent officials the City's position
expressed in this Resolution, and to take all steps necessary to
support the position expressed herein.
