HomeMy WebLinkAbout021597 RES - 03/09/1993 (2)A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING PASSAGE OF SENATE BILL 10. WHEREAS, 1. Alcohol in vehicles presents serious risk to the safety of our citizens. 2. Present law is inadequate to alleviate the risk. 3. Senate Bill 10 would prohibit the operator of a motor vehicle from possessing an alcoholic beverage while operating a vehicle. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the City of Corpus Christi supports Senate Bill 10 and other substantially similar legislation. SECTION 2. That the City Manager and staff, as well as the Mayor and council members, are authorized to communicate to all local legislators and other pertinent officials the City's position expressed in this Resolution, and to take all steps necessary to support the position expressed herein.
