SUPPORTING PASSAGE OF HOUSE BILL 825
WHEREAS,
1. Ordinances regulating weeds, rubbish, and similar violations
are essential to protection of neighborhoods and the public
health.
2. House Bill 825 would enhance efficiency of enforcement efforts
by eliminating cumbersome notice requirements to certain
repeat offenders before cleanup actions may be taken.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the City of Corpus Christi supports
House Bill 825 and other substantially similar legislation.
SECTION 2. That the City Manager and staff, as well as
the Mayor and council members, are authorized to communicate to all
local legislators and other pertinent officials the City's position
expressed in this Resolution, and to take all steps necessary to
support the position expressed herein.
