SUPPORTING PASSAGE OF HOUSE BILL 844
WHEREAS,
1. Enforcement of pipeline safety regulations is a matter of
serious concern to the residents of Corpus Christi.
2. House Bill 844 would increase civil penalties and deter
violations of Railroad Commission pipeline safety rules.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the City of Corpus Christi supports
House Bill 844 and other substantially similar legislation.
SECTION 2. That the City Manager and staff, as well as
the Mayor and council members, are authorized to communicate to all
local legislators and other pertinent officials the City's position
expressed in this Resolution, and to take all steps necessary to
support the position expressed herein.
