AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER, OR HIS DESIGNEE, TO
EXECUTE A LEASE FROM JULY 1 TO SEPTEMBER 30, 1993, WITH
AN OPTION TO RENEW ANNUALLY THROUGH SEPTEMBER 30,
2003, WITH THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF
TRANSPORTATION, FEDERAL AVIATION ADMINISTRATION, FOR
THE ACCESS ROADS AND WALKWAYS AT CORPUS CHRISTI
INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT IN CONSIDERATION OF MAINTAINING
AND OPERATING THE VISUAL APPROACH SLOPE INDICATORS
AND RUNWAY END IDENTIFIER LIGHTS ON RUNWAY 17/35; AND
PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION.
WHEREAS, the Federal fiscal year runs from October 1st to September 30th; and
WHEREAS, the Federal Aviation Administration wants this lease to coincide with
the Federal fiscal year, thus necessitating an initial three-month lease.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager, or his designee, is hereby authorized to
execute a lease from July 1, 1993 to September 30, 1993, with an option to renew annually
from October 1st to September 30th, through September 30, 2003, with the United States
Department of Transportation, Federal Aviation Administration, for the access roads and
walkways at Corpus Christi International Airport, in consideration of the Federal Aviation
Administration maintaining and operating the Visual Slope Approach Indicators and the
Runway End Identifier Lights on Runway 17/35, a copy of which is on file with the City
Secretary.
SECTION 2. Publication shall be made one time in the official publication of the
City of Corpus Christi as required by the City Charter of the City of Corpus Christi.
