APPROVING PETITION OF CENTRAL POWER AND LIGHT COMPANY FOR
NEW ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT TARIFF TO BE EFFECTIVE WITHIN
CITY LIMITS
WHEREAS, on August 3, 1992, Central Power and Light
Company filed with the City of Corpus Christi a request for
approval of a proposed new economic development tariff, Economic
Development Rate - Rider 24, to be effective within the city
limits; and
WHEREAS, the economic development tariff filed by Central
Power and Light Company was the same as that filed with the Public
Utility Commission of Texas and, after modification to such tariff
and additional agreements and undertakings by Central Power and
Light Company, the tariff was approved by the Public Utility
Commission of Texas on March 12, 1993, for application in the
environs outside of the city limits; and
WHEREAS, by filing dated on or about April 15, 1993,
Central Power and Light Company amended its request with this City
for approval of an economic development tariff, asking that a
tariff be approved which is identical to that approved by the
Public Utility Commission of Texas on March 12, 1993; and
WHEREAS, approval of CPL's amended tariff as requested
will not cause rates within the City to increase and potentially
benefits the City by aiding economic development efforts; and
WHEREAS, it is determined that proposed, amended Economic
Development Rate - Rider 24 results in a just and reasonable rate;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the proposed tariff for economic
development, Economic Development Rate - Rider 24, as proposed and
amended by Central Power and Light Company and adopted by the
Public Utility Commission of Texas be effective within the City of
Corpus Christi beginning upon final adoption by the City Council,
subject to City Charter Article II, Section 6.
