APPROPRIATING A GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $51,067 FROM THE
TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH TO DEVELOP EXPANDED
OUTREACH SERVICES TO INDIVIDUALS WHO HAVE TUBERCULOSIS
OR ARE AT HIGH RISK OF DEVELOPING TUBERCULOSIS;
AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 021441 WHICH ADOPTED THE FY 92-93
BUDGET BY ADDING $51,067 TO THE GENERAL FUND -HEALTH
DEPARTMENT; ADDING TWO FULL-TIME EQUIVALENTS TO THE
HEALTH DEPARTMENT; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI, TEXAS.
SECTION 1. That there is hereby appropriated a grant in the amount of $51,067
from the Texas Department of Health to develop expanded outreach services to individuals
who have tuberculosis or are at high risk of developing tuberculosis.
SECTION 2. That Ordinance No. 021441, adopting the FY 92-93 budget, is amended
by adding $51,067 to the General Fund -Health Department.
SECTION 3. That the number of full-time equivalents for the Health Department
is increased by two.
SECTION 4. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy
attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for immediate action necessary
for the efficient and effective administration of City affairs, such finding of an emergency
is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting
upon ordinances at two regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall take
effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the '25 day of
Nish 19 43.

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing
ordinance an emergency exists requiring suspension of the Charter
rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances at two regular
meetings: I/we, therefore, request that you suspend said Charter
rule and pass this ordinance finally on the date it is introduced,
or at the present meeting of the City Council.
