AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, CHAPTER 2,
ADMINISTRATION, DIVISION 16, AIRPORT ADVISORY COMMITTEE,
SECTIONS 2-175 AND 2-176.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the Code of Ordinances, Chapter 2,
Administration, Division 16, Airport Advisory Committee,
Sections 2-175 and 2-176 are hereby amended to read as follows:
Section 2-175. Membership
The airport advisory coiwaittcc board shall consist of ten
(10) members appointed by the city council for three-year
terms. Upon the initial appointment of the three (3)
additional members to increase the airport advisory
wee board from seven (7) to ten (10) members, two
(2) members shall serve for two-year terms, and one
member shall serve for a one-year term. Thereafter all
members shall serve for three-year terms such that the
term of four (4) members shall expire on a given year,
and the term of three (3) members shall expire each
successive year for the next two (2) years.
Section 2-176. Duties.

The purpose of the airport advisory board ("Board") is to
advise the city council concerning matters relating to
the aviation interests of the City of Corpus Christi and
the operation of the Corpus Christi International Airport
("Airport") facilities for the promotion of those
interests. The duties of the Board shall include but not
be limited to the following:
(1) To serve in an advisory capacity to the city
council on technical, fiscal and policy matters
relating to airport operations, development and
improvements, with recommendations for action to be
taken on related action items which are expected to
be forwarded by the aviation department to the city
manager and city council.

L1 To serve in an advisory capacity to the aviation
department, and to serve in such advisory capacity
on aviation matters, when requested, to the city
manager and the city council.
X31 To assist in the development and monitoring of
goals for airport improvements which are compatible
with the applicable Airport Master Plan.
(4) To serve as a public forum for aviation related
matters for the purpose of fostering public
knowledge and appreciation for the airport facility
and its operations.
u To serve in an advisory capacity to the city
council on other matters which affect various
airport constituencies, including but not limited
to the visitor industry and affected business
interests.
j). To promulgate and maintain rules or bylaws for
operation of the board which promote the purposes
of the board as determined by the city council, to
formulate policies for the promotion to the public
of aviation activities, and to encourage public
respect for and use of the airport.
(7) Assist in the formulation of an intermodal
transportation system for Corpus Christi.
J8)_ Nothing herein shall be construed to grant the
Board other than advisory authority as outlined in
the foregoing paragraphs.
