AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, CHAPTER 53, TRAFFIC,
SECTION 53-255, SCHEDULE VI DECREASE OF STATE LAW
MAXIMUM SPEED, BY LOWERING THE SPEED LIMIT FROM 30
MPH TO 20 MPH ON BOTH NORTH SHORELINE BOULEVARD
BETWEEN PEARL STREET AND COASTAL AVENUE, AND EAST
SURFSIDE BOULEVARD BETWEEN PEARL STREET AND THE
SOUTH TERMINUS OF EAST SURFSIDE BOULEVARD; PROVIDING
FOR SEVERANCE; AND PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the Code of Ordinances, City of Corpus Christi, Chapter 53,
Traffic, Section 53-255, Schedule VI, decrease of State law maximum speed be amended as
follows:
by deleting the following sections:
Shoreline Boulevard:
From Bessie Street to Elm Street 20 MPH All times
From Davis Street to Fogg Street 20 MPH All times
and adding the following section:
From Pearl Street to Coastal Avenue -- 20 MPH -- All times
and by adding the following new street section:
East Surfside Boulevard:
From Pearl Street to the south terminus of East Surfside Boulevard --
20 MPH -- All times
SECTION 2. If for any reason any section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase,
word, or provisions of this ordinance shall be held invalid or unconstitutional by final
judgment of a court of competent jurisdiction, it shall not affect any other section,
paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word, or provision of this ordinance for it is the
definite intent of this City Council that every section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase,
word, or provisions hereof be given full force and effect for its purpose.
SECTION 3. Publication shall be made in the official publication of the City of
Corpus Christi as required by the City Charter of the City of Corpus Christi.
