HomeMy WebLinkAbout021698 ORD - 07/06/1993AN ORDINANCE WAIVING THE HEALTH CLINIC VISIT FEE SET OUT IN SECTION 23-18 OF THE CITY CODE OF ORDINANCES FOR IMMUNIZATION OF CHILDREN DURING THE MONTHS OF JULY AND AUGUST 1993; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, the Texas Department of Health has announced the July -August Immunization Initiative and requested that local Health Departments waive fees for immunization of children during this period; and, WHEREAS, Section 23-18 of the Code of Ordinances establishes health clinic visit fees; and, WHEREAS, the City Council desires to cooperate in the immunization initiative; NOW THEREFORE, be it ordained by the City Council of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas: SECTION 1. That health clinic visit fees set out in Section 23-18 of the City Code of Ordinances shall be waived during July and August 1993, for immunizations of children. SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for immediate action necessary for the efficient and effective administration of City affairs, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances at two regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall take effect upon first readin as an emergency measure this the (p day of Judi , 19 ATTEST: APPROVED: 1 DAY OF 0 THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI MAYOR, MAI RHODES JAMES R.
