HomeMy WebLinkAbout021712 ORD - 07/27/1993AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CORPUS CHRISTI CITY CODE SECTIONS 53-60 INCREASING FEES FOR IMPOUNDING AND STORAGE OF IMPOUNDED VEHICLES; PROVIDING FOR SEVERANCE; AND PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI: SECTION 1. That the Corpus Christi City Code, Section 53-60, Subsections (a)(1)a, (b)(1)a are hereby amended to read as follows: Sec. 53-60 Same -Redemption of Vehicles; Fees for Impounding and Storage. (a) When a vehicle is impounded pursuant to section 53-59, subsections (a)(1) through (a)(1) the following procedures shall apply: (1) The vehicle shall be released to a person claiming it, upon satisfactory proof that he is entitled to possession, when the following conditions are met: a. Payment of a towing fee of forty-five dollars ($45.00), a storage fee of five dollars ($5.00) for recovered stolen vehicles, seven dollars and fifty cents ($7.50) for other vehicles less than one ton and ten dollars ($10.00) for other vehicles one ton or over for the first twenty-four (24) hours of storage or part thereof, and five dollarc ($5.00) for each subsequent twenty-four (24) hours of storage or part thereof, and a ccvcn dollar and fifty cent ($7.50) ten dollar ($10.00) administrative fee. Payment of a towing or immobilization fee of forty-five dollars ($45.00), a storage fee of five dollars ($5.00) for recovered stolen vehicles, seven dollars and fifty cents ($7.50) for other vehicles less than one ton and ten dollars ($10.00) for other vehicles one ton or over for the first twenty-four (24) hours of storage or part thereof, and fivc dollarc ($5.00) for each subsequent twenty-four (24) hours of storage or part thereof, and a ccvcn dollar and fifty ccnt ($7.50) ten dollar ($10.00) administrative fee; and payment of the standard charge for the underlying parking violations as reflected in the parking violation notices. \ord\93049 [subparts b., c., and d. are unchanged] 021712 SECTION 2. If for any reason any section, paragraph, subdivision clause, phrase, word or provision of this ordinance shall be held invalid or unconstitutional by final judgement of a court of competent jurisdiction, it shall not affect any other section, paragraph, subdivision clause, phrase, word or provision of this ordinance for it is the definite intent of this City Council that every section, paragraph, subdivision clause, phrase, word or provision hereof be given full force and effect for its purpose.
