HomeMy WebLinkAbout021716 ORD - 07/27/1993AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $109,210 OF A GRANT FROM THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH FOR CONTINUATION OF EXTENDED SERVICES FOR TUBERCULOSIS PREVENTION AND CONTROL DURING THE PERIOD SEPTEMBER 1, 1993 THROUGH AUGUST 31, 1994, FOR CONTINUATION OF COMPREHENSIVE PUBLIC HEALTH SERVICES DURING THE PERIOD SEPTEMBER 1, 1993 THROUGH AUGUST 31, 1994, AND FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF AN OUTREACH PROGRAM FOR INMATES OF THE NUECES COUNTY JAIL CONCERNING TUBERCULOSIS PREVENTION AND CONTROL DURING THE PERIOD FEBRUARY 1, 1993 THROUGH JANUARY 31, 1994; ADDING ONE FULL-TIME EQUIVALENT TO THE HEALTH DEPARTMENT; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That there is hereby appropriated $109,210 of a grant from the Texas Department of Health for continuation of extended services for tuberculosis prevention and control during the period September 1, 1993 through August 31, 1994, for continuation of comprehensive public health services during the period September 1, 1993 through August 31, 1994, and for the establishment of an outreach program for inmates of the Nueces County Jail concerning tuberculosis prevention and control during the period February 1, 1993 through January 31, 1994. SECTION 2. That the number of full-time equivalents for the Health Department is increased by one. SECTION 3. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for immediate action necessary for the efficient and effective administration of City affairs, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances at two regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall take effect upon f rst reading as a mergency measure this the [1 day of kt , 19V ATTEST: THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI Armando Chapa, City Secretary �\\ Y , APPROVED: ° / DAY OF JLLL' (j JAMES R.
