HomeMy WebLinkAbout021726 ORD - 08/10/1993AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 021153, PASSED AND APPROVED ON APRIL 16, 1991, BY AMENDING SECTION 3 OF SAID ORDINANCE SO AS TO ADOPT THE FINAL ASSESSMENT ROLL AND ASSESSMENTS IN THE AMOUNT OF $179,580.28 ON SIXTY ITEMS, LEVIED AGAINST THE OWNERS OF PROPERTY ABUTTING ON AYERS STREET FROM BALDWIN BOULEVARD TO SOUTH ALAMEDA STREET, AND ON AYERS STREET FROM SOUTH ALAMEDA STREET TO SANTA FE STREET, AS PART OF THE AYERS STREET, PHASE II STREET IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That Ordinance No. 021153 passed and approved on April 16, 1991, be amended by amending Section 3 so as to adopt the final assessment roll and assessments in the amount of $179,580.28 on sixty items, levied against owners of property abutting on Ayers Street from Baldwin Boulevard to South Alameda Street, and on Ayers Street from South Alameda Street to Santa Fe Street, as part of the Ayers Street, Phase II Street Improvements Project, a substantial copy of which amended and final assessment roll is attached hereto and made a part hereof, marked Exhibit "A." SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for immediate action necessary for efficient and effective administration of City affairs by the adoption of the final, corrected assessment roll as aforesaid, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances at two regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the /0 day of az 1993.
