AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI TO JOIN WITH
OTHER CITIES TO INTERVENE IN THE FUEL RATE CASE FILED BY
CENTRAL POWER & LIGHT COMPANY, PUC DOCKET NO. 12,154, AND
RELATED PROCEEDINGS; AND APPOINTING A REPRESENTATIVE TO
THE CITIES STEERING COMMITTEE FOR SUCH PROCEEDINGS.
WHEREAS, Central Power and Light Company has filed a fuel rate case at the
Public Utility Commission, Docket No. 12,154; and
WHEREAS, such decision will affect this City and its citizens; and
WHEREAS, it is in the public interest to join with other Cities to review such filing
and present such evidence as may be appropriate before the Public Utility Commission, all
as directed by the Cities' Steering Committee.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The City of Corpus Christi should join with other participating cities
to review such filing and related proceedings and to intervene therein at the Public Utility
Commission, subject to the right to terminate such participation at any time by written
notice and to act independently in the exercise of local regulatory authority. It is specifically
understood that this participation will not necessitate the expenditure of any funds from the
City budget.
SECTION 2. The City of Corpus Christi appoints James R. Bray as its representative
on the CP&L Docket No. 12,154 Steering Committee. The Steering Committee shall
supervise the representation of the CP&L cities participating jointly in the above docket and
related proceedings and report back to the respective cities.
CONSIDERED, PASSED and APPROVED this 31st day of August, 1993, at a
regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, at which a quorum
was present and which was held in accordance with Article 6252-17 V.T.C.S.
