HomeMy WebLinkAbout021825 ORD - 12/14/1993AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 53, TRAFFIC, SECTION 53-27, PARKING ATTENDANTS, OFFICE AND POSITIONS ESTABLISHED; QUALIFICATIONS; SUPERVISION, TO ALLOW NON -CITY EMPLOYEES TO ISSUE PARKING CITATIONS; PROVIDING FOR SEVERANCE; PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI: SECTION 1. That Chapter 53, Traffic, Section 53-27, Parking Attendants, office and positions established; qualifications; supervision to allow non -City employees to issue traffic citations, be amended by adding the following at the end of that section: Provided, if City enters into a parking lease or management contract the City Manager may designate non - City employees, who meet the qualifications established by the City Manager, as parking attendants authorized to issue City traffic citations for parking violations in the areas set out in such a lease or management contract. SECTION 2. If for any reason any section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word or provision of this ordinance shall be held invalid or unconstitutional by final judgment of a court of competent jurisdiction, it shall not affect any other section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word or provision of this ordinance for it is the definite intent of this City Council that every section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word or provision hereof be given full force and effect for its purpose. SECTION 3.
