HomeMy WebLinkAbout021830 ORD - 12/21/1993AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER OR HIS DESIGNEE TO EXECUTE A ONE YEAR EXTENSION OF AIRPORT USE AND LEASE AGREEMENTS WITH AMERICAN AIRLINES, INC., CONTINENTAL AIRLINES, INC., SOUTHWEST AIRLINES COMPANY, ATLANTIC SOUTHEAST AIRLINES, INC., AND CONQUEST AIRLINES CORPORATION, ON A MONTH-TO- MONTH BASIS, FOR USE OF SPACE AT THE CORPUS CHRISTI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, SUCH LEASES TO EXPIRE ON DECEMBER 31, 1994; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, the City entered into an Airport Use and Lease Agreement with American Airlines, Inc., authorized by Ordinance No. 020901 on January 1, 1989 which expires on December 31, 1993; WHEREAS, the City entered into an Airport Use and Lease Agreement with Continental Airlines, Inc., authorized by Ordinance No. 020901 on January 1, 1989 which expires on December 31, 1993; WHEREAS, the City entered into an Airport Use and Lease Agreement with Southwest Airlines Company, authorized by Ordinance No. 020901 on January 1, 1989 which expires on December 31, 1993; WHEREAS, the City entered into an Airport Use and Lease Agreement with Delta Air Lines, Inc., authorized by Ordinance No. 020953 on July 1, 1990, said Airport Use and Lease Agreement was assigned to Atlantic Southeast Airlines, Inc. on June 22, 1993 authorized by Ordinance No. 021694 which expires on December 31, 1993; WHEREAS, the City entered into an Airport Use and Lease Agreement with Conquest Airlines Corporation, authorized by Ordinance No. 021172 on March 1, 1991 which expires on December 31, 1993; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the City Manager or his designee is hereby authorized to execute Airport Use and Lease Agreements with American Airlines, Inc., Continental Airlines, Inc., Southwest Airlines Company, Atlantic Southeast Airlines, Inc., and Conquest Airlines Corporation to extend the Airport Use and Lease Agreements for one year, on a month-to-month basis, all leases to expire on December 31, 1994, under same terms and conditions as the existing Airport Use and Lease Agreements, all of which are on file with City Secretary and the Airport. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for immediate action necessary for the efficient and effective administration of City affairs, such finding of an emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances at two regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall take effect up�°n firs reading as an emergency measure this the / day of 4.),(+o /A , 19 93 .
