AMENDING CHAPTER 2, ARTICLE II OF THE CORPUS CHRISTI CODE
OF ORDINANCES BY REPEALING PROVISIONS RELATING TO CITY
COUNCIL PROCEDURES AND RULES FOR THE CONDUCT OF COUNCIL
MEETINGS SO THAT THEY CAN BE REORGANIZED INTO A
COMPILATION OF COUNCIL POLICIES; AND DECLARING AN
EMERGENCY
WHEREAS, for purposes of convenience and efficiency, the City
Council desires to organize its policies and internal operating
procedures and rules into one readily accessible resolution, which
requires repeal of certain ordinance provisions.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The following sections contained in Chapter 2,
Article II of the Corpus Christi Code of Ordinances are repealed:
Sections 2-20, 2-21, 2-22, 2-24, 2-25, 2-26, 2-27, 2-28, 2-29, 2-
30, 2-31, 2-32, 2-33, 2-34, 2-39.
SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five
Council members, copy attached, to find and declare an emergency
due to the need for immediate action necessary for the efficient
and effective administration of City affairs, such finding of an
emergency is made and declared requiring suspension of the Charter
rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances at two regular
meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall take effect
upon firstp�r�eading as an emergency m asure this the 22_ day of

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing
ordinance an emergency exists requiring suspension of the Charter
rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances at two regular
meetings: I/we, therefore, request that you suspend said Charter
rule and pass this ordinance finally on the date it is introduced,
or at the present meeting of the City Council.
