AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AN INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT
WITH THE STATE OF TEXAS, DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY, DIVISION OF
EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT TO PURCHASE $76,910.00 FOR EQUIPMENT TO
ENHANCE COORDINATION OF INTER -GOVERNMENTAL OPERATIONS FOR
EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AND DISASTER INFORMATION AND PLANNING; AND
DESIGNATING THE CHIEF OF POLICE AS THE CITY'S OFFICIAL
REPRESENTATIVE UNDER THE INTER -GOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT.
WHEREAS, the State of Texas, Department of Public Safety, Division of Emergency
Management ("DPS"), wants to enter into an intergovernmental agreement with the City of
Corpus Christi ("City") to purchase $76,910.00 of equipment to enhance intergovernmental
coordination of emergency management operations and disaster planning and information
efforts within Nueces County, Texas; and
WHEREAS, the City is willing to purchase and distribute the equipment and
coordinate use of the equipment.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute an inter-
governmental agreement with DPS to purchase $76,910.00 of equipment to enhance
intergovernmental coordination of emergency management operations and disaster planning and
information efforts in Nueces County, Texas.
SECTION 2. That the Chief of Police is the City's official representative under this
intergovernmental agreement.
