AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES CHAPTER 53 -
TRAFFIC, ARTICLE VIII - SCHEDULES, SECTION 53-254 -
SCHEDULE V, INCREASE OF STATE SPEED LIMIT ON
RODD FIELD ROAD BETWEEN SARATOGA BOULEVARD
AND THE SOUTH CITY LIMIT FROM 55 MPH TO 50 MPH;
AND PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION; AND PROVIDING
FOR PENALTIES ASSESSED FOR VIOLATIONS.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS.
SECTION 1: Amending the Code of Ordinances, Chapter 53 - Traffic, Article VIII -
Schedules, Section 53-254 - Schedule V, increase of state speed limit in certain zones, by
deleting the following sections:
Rodd Field Road (S.H. 357):
and in lieu thereof adding the following sections:
From Holly Road to the centerline of Saratoga Boulevard (S.H. 357) -- 55 MPH --
All times.
From the centerline of Saratoga Boulevard (S.H. 357) to the South City Limit
-- 50 MPH -- All times.
SECTION 2. If for any reason any section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase,
word or provision of this ordinance shall be held invalid or unconstitutional by final
judgment of a court of competent jurisdiction, it shall not affect any other section,
paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word or provision of this ordinance for it is the
definite intent of this City Council that every section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase,
word or provision hereof be given full force and effect for its purpose.

SECTION 3. Violations of these speed limits may result in traffic citations being
issued and fines being assessed.
SECTION 4. Publication shall be made in the official publication of the City of
Corpus Christi as required by the City Charter of the City of Corpus Christi.
