HomeMy WebLinkAbout021991 RES - 07/19/1994RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER, OR HIS DESIGNEE,TO SUBMIT A $500,000 GRANT APPLICATION TO THE TEXAS RECREATION AND PARKS ACCOUNT AND THE LAND AND WATER CONSERVATION FUND AS ADMINISTERED BY THE TEXAS PARKS AND WILDLIFE DEPARTMENT. THE REQUIRED LOCAL AUTHORITY SHARE FOR THE PROJECT IS $500,000. WHEREAS, the Gateway Park Project will benefit the citizens of Corpus Christi by providing usable recreational improvments along the bayfront; and WHEREAS, the Gateway Park Project is a part of the City's Comprehensive Plan; and WHEREAS, the Corpus Christi bayfront can be greatly improved and enhanced if grant funds can be used to construct the scope of the project; and WHEREAS, private donations are to provide the local authority share of the project; and WHEREAS, the Texas Parks and Wildlife grant programs are designed to benefit projects such as the Gateway Park Project as proposed by the City. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS, THAT: SECTION 1. The City of Corpus Christi requests that the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department favorably consider the grant application to design and construct the Gateway Park Project.
