HomeMy WebLinkAbout021992 RES - 07/19/1994RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER, OR HIS DESIGNEE, TO SUBMIT A $1,500,000 ENHANCEMENT PROGRAM APPLICATION FOR THE GATEWAY PARK PROJECT TO THE STATEWIDE TRANSPORTATION ENHANCEMENT PROGRAM AS ADMINISTERED BY THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION. THE REQUIRED LOCAL AUTHORITY SHARE FOR THE PROJECT IS $375,000. WHEREAS, the Gateway Park Project will benefit the citizens of Corpus Christi by providing alternative transportation routes, as well as recreational routes; and WHEREAS, the Gateway Park Project is a part of the City's Comprehensive Plan; and WHEREAS, the Corpus Christi bayfront can be greatly improved and enhanced if enhancement funds can be used to construct the scope of the project; and WHEREAS, the enhancement funding program is designed to benefit projects such as the Gateway Park Project as proposed by the City. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS, THAT: SECTION 1: The City of Corpus Christi requests that the Texas Department of Transportation favorably consider the enhancement program application for Statewide Transportation Enhancement Program Funds to design and construct the Gateway Park Project.
