AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, CHAPTER 53 TRAFFIC,
ARTICLE V. OPERATION OF VEHICLES, SECTIONS 53-131, 53-132, AND
53-133 RELATING TO STOP AND YIELD SIGNS; PROVIDING FOR
SEVERANCE, PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION; AND PROVIDING FOR
PENALTIES ASSESSED FOR VIOLATIONS.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the Code of Ordinances, Chapter 53, Article V., Section
53-131, he amended as follows:
Sec. 53-131. Erection of "stop" or "yield" fight -of -way signs on
streets intersecting through streets.

53-133 be deleted in its entirety.
SECTION 4. If for any reason any section, paragraph, subdivision, clause,
phrase, word or provision of this ordinance shall he held invalid or unconstitutional by final
judgment of a court of competent jurisdiction, it shall not affect any other section,

paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word or provision of this ordinance for it is the
definite intent of this City Council that every section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase,
word or provision hereof be given full force and effect for its purpose.
SECTION 5. Publication shall be made in the official publication of the City
of Corpus Christi as required by the City Charter of the City of Corpus Christi.
SECTION 6. Violation of stop or yield traffic control devices may result in
traffic citations being issued and fines being assessed.
