HomeMy WebLinkAbout022013 RES - 08/09/1994A RESOLUTION A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS, HEREINAFTER REFERRED TO AS "APPLICANT", DESIGNATING CERTAIN OFFICIALS AS BEING RESPONSIBLE FOR, ACTING FOR, AND ON BEHALF OF THE "APPLICANT" IN DEALING WITH THE TEXAS PARKS & WILDLIFE DEPARTMENT, HEREINAFTER REFERRED TO AS "DEPARTMENT", FOR THE PURPOSE OF PARTICIPATING IN THE GRANT PROGRAMS; CERTIFYING THAT THE "APPLICANT" IS ELIGIBLE TO RECEIVE ASSISTANCE UNDER SUCH PROGRAMS; CERTIFYING THAT THE "APPLICANT'S" MATCHING SHARE IS READILY AVAILABLE; AND DEDICATING THE PROPOSED SITE FOR PUBLIC RECREATIONAL USES. WHEREAS, the United States Congress has passed the Land & Water Conversation Fund Act of 1965 (Public Law 88-578) for outdoor recreation purposes; and WHEREAS, the Texas Legislature has approved the Parks & Wildlife Code, Section 13.309 authorizing the State of Texas, and its political subdivisions, to participate in the federal program established under said Public Law 88-578; and WHEREAS, the Texas Legislature has approved the Parks & Wildlife Code, Section 24.005 for the purpose of allowing the political subdivisions of the State of Texas to participate in the Texas Recreation & Parks Account Program; and WHEREAS, the "Applicant" is fully eligible to receive assistance under these programs; and WHEREAS, the "Applicant" is desirous of authorizing its administrative staff to represent and act for the City in dealing with the "Department" concerning this program; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE "APPLICANT": SECTION 1: That the "Applicant" certifies that they are eligible to receive assistance under these Programs. SECTION 2: That the "Applicant" hereby certifies that the matching share for this application is readily available at this time. SECTION 3: That the "Applicant" hereby authorizes and directs its City Manager to act for the "Applicant" in dealing with the "Department" for the purpose of these programs, and the Director of Park & Recreation is hereby officially designated as the representative in this regard. MICA, 022013 SECTION 4: The "Applicant" hereby specifically authorizes the official to make application to the "Department" concerning the site to be known as Gateway Park in the City of Corpus Christi for use as a park site. That Gateway Park will be dedicated upon completion of the proposed acquisition for public outdoor recreation purposes in perpetuity.
