AMENDING ORDINANCE 8127, AS AMENDED, SECTION 510,
MANAGERIAL GROUP PAY PLAN FOR FY 94-95, OF THE
COMPENSATION AND CLASSIFICATION PLAN, TO ADJUST FIRE
MANAGERIAL SALARY RANGES TO BE CONSISTENT WITH THE PAY
ADJUSTMENTS REQUIRED BY THE FIRE COLLECTIVE BARGAINING
AGREEMENT FOR NON -MANAGERIAL PERSONNEL; AND DECLARING
AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, a new collective bargaining agreement has been reached with the Firefighters
Union, and salary ranges should be revised so that compensation of managerial personnel can be
adjusted consistently with that of firefighters compensated under the contract in consideration of the
continued employment, performance, and morale of managerial personnel.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That Ordinance 8127, as amended from time to time, Compensation and
Classification Plan, is hereby amended by providing for salary range adjustments to Managerial salary
ranges effective August 1, 1993, which are consistent with the Pay adjustments required by the Fire
Collective Bargaining Agreement for non -Managerial personnel in accordance with the following
schedule:

Fire Chief $51,900 - $73,300 $56,400 - $79,600
First Assistant Fire Chief $44,300 - $63,000 $48,200 - $68,400
Assistant Fire Chief $41,100 - $57,700 $44,600 - $62,700
Director of Emergency
Medical Services (EMS) $35,200 - $50,200 $38,200 - $54,500
Assistant Director of EMS $31,700 - $45,600 $34,500 - $49,500
SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy
attached, to find and declare an emergency due to the need for immediate action necessary for the
efficient and effective administration of City affairs, such finding of an emergency is made and
declared requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances at
two regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall take effect upon first reading as an

requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances at two

finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
