AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, CHAPTER 53 - TRAFFIC,
SECTION 53-254, SCHEDULE V, INCREASE OF STATE SPEED LIMIT IN
CERTAIN ZONES, BY REDUCING THE SPEED LIMIT ON OCEAN DRIVE,
BETWEEN A POINT 400 FEET SOUTH OF ROSSITER STREET TO
AIRLINE ROAD; PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION; AND PROVIDING
FOR PENALTIES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the City of Corpus Christi Code of Ordinances, Chapter 53, Section 53-
254, Schedule V, is hereby amended by deleting the following section:
Ocean Drive:
North and West (in -bound traffic):
From a point 400 feet south of Rossiter Street to the entrance (east edge of
pavement) of the University of Corpus Christi - 45 MPH - All times
South and East (out -bound traffic):
From a point 400 feet south of Rossiter Street to a point 125 feet east of Country
Club Drive center line - 45 MPH - All times
Eastbound (out -bound traffic):
From a point 125 feet east of Country Club Drive center line to a point 1,315 feet
east of Country Club Drive center line - 35 MPH - All times
Eastbound (out -bound traffic):
From a point 1,315 feet east of Country Club Drive center line to the entrance (east
edge of pavement) of the University of Corpus Christi - 45 MPH - All times
From the south curbline of the eastbound lane of Louisiana to a point 400 feet south of
Rossiter Street - 40 MPH - All times
and in lieu thereof adding:
From the south curbline of the eastbound lane of Louisiana Parkway to Airline Road - 40
MPH - All times

Northbound (in -bound traffic):
From Airline Road to the north entrance of the Texas A&M University - Corpus
Christi - 45 MPH - All times
Southbound (out -bound traffic):
From Airline Road to a point 125 feet east of Country Club Drive - 45 MPH - All
times
Southbound (out -bound traffic):
From a point 125 feet east of Country Club Drive to a point 1,315 feet east of
Country Club Drive - 35 MPH - All times
Southbound (out -bound) traffic:
From a point 1,315 feet east of Country Club Drive to the north entrance of the Texas
A&M University - Corpus Christi - 45 MPH - All times
SECTION 2. Publication shall be made one time in the official publication of the City
of Corpus Christi as required by the City Charter of the City of Corpus Christi.
SECTION 3. A violation of these speed limits may result in a citation being issued
and a fine being assessed.
